Quebec City’s new arena will be called Centre Vidéotron for the next 25 years, Québecor announced on Tuesday.

Québecor, the building’s management company, will pay Quebec City $33 million upon the opening of the arena, planned for Sept. 15.

The amount paid could rise to $63.5 million if the city gets a National Hockey League franchise.

The announcement came at a news conference in Quebec City with Québecor representatives and Mayor Régis Labeaume present.

Québecor had announced last week a deal with AEG, an entertainment company, to promote and schedule acts for the arena.

The construction of the arena, estimated at nearly $400 million, began in 2012.

The city and the Quebec government have shared the construction costs, with Québecor paying between $110 and $200 million for the use of the arena.
