Popular rock band The Smashing Pumpkins recently announced their Spirits On Fire North American tour. The show will stop at the Videotron Centre on October 27th, with the alternative metal band Jane's Addiction as special guests. Singer Poppy will also join the tour for a few dates, including the one in Quebec City.

A pre-sale will be offered to subscribers to the Videotron Centre's newsletter on Thursday, May 12 at 10 a.m., while sales to the general public will begin on Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m. on gestev.com.

Tomorrow night, as part of The Smashing Pumpkins' tour announcement, the GRAMMY® Award-winning and critically acclaimed band will perform and be interviewed on The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS.

Later in the day, The Smashing Pumpkins will also perform at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood for a memorial ceremony in conjunction with their tour announcement. Each band member will add their handprint to the cement, joining a long list of global treasures before them.

When The Smashing Pumpkins emerged from Chicago in 1988, the world had never heard a band like it. It blended rock, pop, shoegaze, metal, gothic, psychedelia and electronica into a kaleidoscope of saccharine melodies, fuzzy distortions, grandiose orchestrations, incendiary fretworks, eloquent songs and unwavering hooks. When the band was formed, the sound was different, iconoclastic and totally new, and it still is today. As a result, The Smashing Pumpkins have sold over 30 million albums worldwide and have won two GRAMMY® Awards, two MTV VMAs and an American Music Award. Their catalog is highlighted by the platinum album Gish (1991), the quadruple platinum Siamese Dream (1993), diamond-certified Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995), platinum Adore (1998) and gold Machina/The Machines of God (2000). In 2018, the alternative rock band embarked on one of the most successful tours in their history, Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour, followed by SHINY AND OH SO BRIGHT, VOL. 1/LP: NO PAST. NO FUTURE. NO SUN. Meanwhile, 2020 saw the release of the band's eleventh full-length album and last double album, CYR. As prolific as ever, The Smashing Pumpkins have confirmed that they will be releasing more music in 2022 as they resume touring.
