Damso 24012023

Following the release of his acclaimed album QALF, Belgian-Congolese rapper Damso will be heading out on his tour and will stop in Quebec City at the Videotron Centre on January 27th. This is an event not to be missed!

Launched on September 18, 2020, the album QALF, which stands for “Qui Aime Like Follow”, was a smashing success from the start. Generating over 14 million listens in just 24 hours, the album made Damso the most listened to artist in the world on Spotify the day it was released. Thirteen of the songs on the double platinum album have made it to the Spotify World TOP200. Damso’s QALF infinity project was the ninth most listened to album in the world and reached the top of the charts in Belgium, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Gabon, all genres combined.

To date, Damso has over 1.4 billion downloads on Spotify, making him the most streamed French rapper in the world. This title and the achievement of 52 gold singles are no strangers to the accuracy, preciousness and truth behind his pen. Indeed, the one who adopts a writing devoid of artifice has found the recipe to reach a conquered and committed public.

About Damso

William Kalubi, known as Damso, was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. When he was nine years old, he and his family left the then-conflicted country to settle in Brussels, Belgium. It was in 2006 that Damso jumped into the rap industry by creating a collective with his childhood friend. In 2014, he unveiled his first solo project “Salle d’attente”, but it was not until a year later that he became known by the general public with his song “Poseidon” appearing on Booba’s OKLM compilation of songs. Damso had the opportunity to collaborate again with Booba when he joined the collective 92i and signed with Universal. It is following his signature with Universal Music France that his albums “Batterie Faible” (2016), ’Ipséité” (2017) and ‘Lithopédion’ (2018) were released. Now an independent artist with his fourth album QALF, Damso has his own record company, The Vie Music.
