THE SITE
La Cité-Limoilou is one of six boroughs in Quebec City and the most densely populated, with three territories (Upper Town, Lower Town and Limoilou) and nine districts. Its span allows for great diversity, both cultural and architectural. The area surrounding the Videotron Centre is going through a period of great revitalization. Various restaurants and hotels have opened up in recent years, making La Cité-Limoilou a booming and popular neighbourhood of choice.
Quebec City is known for its extreme temperatures and quick-changing climate, which inspired the architects designing the Centre to play with the theme of hot and cold. Throughout the site, you can experience the warm, cozy atmosphere of chalets, seamlessly blended with sleek, chic spaces with materials like steel and wood. The metal coating used in construction reflects light, like snow or the waves on the river, while the blue and white colours throughout pay tribute to the world-famous Quebec winter.
In stark contrast to typically dark arenas, the Videotron Centre is light and bright thanks to its various skylights and glass corridors, which offer stunning views of the city of Quebec.
